Oughtershaw Demonstration Area

Where is it?

The demonstration area is situated at the top of the Wharfe valley 5 miles north of Buckden. All the interventions can be seen from the popular section of the Dales Way between Oughtershaw Village and Cam Houses. 

What is there?

You will see several interventions including:

  • Catchment Tree planting
  • Leaky Dams
  • Low level earth bunds
  • Offline ponds/ Scrapes
  • Riparian Buffer Strips

When can you go?

The majority of the interventions can be seen from the public right of way, interpretation boards and way markers highlight where they are situated. For organised visits, please contact us.
