Upper Ure Catchment
The River Ure starts above on the moors above Hawes and flows past small villages of Bainbridge, Aysgarth, and Leyburn. The catchment is largely rural with settlements consisting of small villages and market towns, the largest being Hawes and Leyburn. Agriculture and tourism are the heart of economic activity, with Yorkshire Dales National Park attracting thousands of visitors every year.
