Upper Ouse Catchment
The River Kyle and its tributaries form the northern half of the catchment, and flows south-east of Tholthorpe village, near Easingwold. At Linton-on-Ouse it turns south and joins the River Ouse just north of Newton on Ouse. The Ouse flows south past Nether Poppleton, via Clifton Ings and Rawcliffe Meadows through the city of York and south to the small village of Acaster Selby. With the exception of the York conurbation the land use is largely agricultural.
